MY FAVOURITES || April Edition.

Ello, ello… how are we today? We are right in the midst of Autumn now… although you wouldn’t think so, right? Most states are still nearing 30 degrees, which is WEIRD!

If you’re in Spring, I am SO jealous… give me warm days, all day erryday!

It’s been a minute since I’ve done a favourites… so I thought I’d let you all know what I’ve been loving or been grabbing for a lot more recently!

(I was going to add photos into this post but I think it’s just going to be FAR to long if I do… so forgive me!)

First off… I’ve been obsessed with skin care lately! I think you sort of get to your late 20s and you’re like “damn… it’s time I started taking care of my skin, right?”

I’ve been absolutely loving Face Halo’s to remove make up and cleanse my skin after a day at work. They just need to be wet and rubbed in circular motions aroud your face and it’s like BAM! You’re basically good to go!

You don’t have to use chemicals on your face and you limit your wastage with cleansing wipes plus SAVE MONEY, what more could you want? Just chuck them in the wash or wash them in the bathroom sink with a bit of shampoo when they’re a bit gross and let them air dry. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

I’ve also been loving Clinique’s Take The Day Off Balm (let’s be real, I have been for a LONG time but hey!) and their new Moisture Surge moisturiser. Both of them are light on the skin and don’t leave your skin feeling greasy! You can pick them up in small sizes at Mecca, if you’re looking to give them a whirl! While you’re at Mecca… take a squiz at Mario Badescu’s Botantical Exfoliating Gel, it’s the perfect exfoliater if you’re looking for something that is not to abrasive and quite gentle on the skin.

On the topic of skincare… I picked up The Ordinary’s Argan Oil from Priceline and HOLY MOLY! This oil is no joke if you’ve got dry or dehydrate skin and hair. Your skin ends up looking plump, hydrated and glowing! I love putting it on at night and reaping the benefits the next day!

Also picked up Lush Cosmetics lip scrub in Mint Julips and boy! I feel like I’ve been using this on the daily and as it’s only going to start getting cooler, I think it’s going to become a staple in my hand bag.

Now let’s get onto the good stuff… MAKE UP!

NARS Radiant Long Wear Foundation is E V E R Y T H I N G… it’d probably be my favourite high end foundation, if I’m honest? It’s medium to full coverage but not heavy on the skin or give the dreaded ‘cakey’ look, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’ve also been loving Rimmel London’s Wonderfully Real mascara (it’s in the red tube). I think I have repurchased this twice since it was sent to me because nothing really compares. It’s probably one of the blackest mascaras I’ve tried and gives incredible length and curl. The formula is a little on the wet side so it can look somewhat spidery if you apply to much.

Back to NARS for a quick minute… their Lip Covers are actually bomb! It’s the first lip product I’ve tried from them and I couldn’t be more happy! I have the shade Summer Fire which is a pink mauve but this formula is the perfect mix between matte and a gloss… definitely give these a whirl while you can get your hands on them.

Make Up Revolution’s conceal and define concealers are still on high rotation in my daily use… they don’t oxidise, are comfortable on the skin and don’t crease like a mofo! It’s the perfect trifecta in my opinion.

For eyeshadow and palettes, I have been using my Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette a LOT! It’s just so versatile and you can do subtle day looks to glittery bomb eye looks for a night out. If you can splurge $95 for this, I would because you definitely get your monies worth from it!

On the fragrance front, I’ve been loving Delta by Delta Goodrem. It’s just a great everyday scent that is easy to wear!

And on my nails, I’ve been obsessed with Sally Hansen lately… their Autumn colour range is to die for! Think deep berries, silver and golds and pretty nudes… you can’t go wrong!

I think that’s about it… well, for the beauty side of things anyway? Be sure to let me know if you want me to do a style and fashion favourites or what has been on high rotation on my playlist lately!

Til next time – Emma xx

LUX Lipsticks | Colour Pop’s New Release

Colour Pop are that brand that seem to drop a new release every second month, if not every month. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but goddamn, it gets confusing when it comes to doing blog posts… haha! They released their highly anticipated LUX Lipsticks about 3 months ago, I want to say? So it’s new but not brand spanking new that nobody knows what I’m talking about… ya feel?

colourpop lux

Their LUX Lipsticks are a step away from the infamous satin/matte liquid lip formulas they’ve created. They are a standard bullet style lipstick which is something we haven’t seen from Colour Pop until now. They are set in a beautiful gold packaging which feels luxurious and expensive. They retail for $7 USD a piece (approx $8.50-10 AUD) which is a market friendly, affordable price.

Highly pigmented, long lasting and comfortable to wear is how I would describe these lipsticks. I personally rate them a lot higher than the Urban Decay VICE lipstick that I own. They’re available in a wide range of colours which start in your basic, everyday nudes to a selection of pink shades, fun oranges and fiery reds with a unique teal shade (which I wish I could rock… ugh!) and a black. So there is something for everybody! (:

How gorgeous is Getty? BUT WHERE WOULD YOU WEAR THAT? HAHA! I feel like I need it in my life but I JUST DON’T KNOW!

Moral of the story is… grab a couple of these lippies and try them for yourself (: I know you won’t be disappointed!

If you’ve tried these, what is your favourite colour? I adore What If, Ghosted and Get A Room!

Make Up Revolution | What’s the hype?

I know, I’m a little late to the party but I got my hands on the highly requested/rated Conceal and Define concealers from Make Up Revolution and I’ve been testing them out for the past couple of weeks to see if they’re actually worth the hype and if they’re comparable to Tarte’s infamous Shape Tape concealer.

So let’s start with the basics, hey? I picked up these guys from tambeauty.com and they are a steal $7 a piece. They are available in 18 shades from the lightest of light to deep dark shades and they all have a different variety of undertone which is a standard we are looking at for within the beauty industry today.

I am C4/C5 naturally and I’d almost guarantee if I had my ‘tan’ colour, it’d be along the lines of C10, possibly C9 depending how bright I want to be? But I am definitely guessing that!

Can we give major props to Make Up Revolution for their extensive shade range and affordability? Because just WOW! I also believe they’ve extended the colour range or are planning too soon? Like… which other brand is that inclusive? Right…

This concealer is a hydrating formula that dries semi-matte, it’s not overly glowy but it’s not the matte-ist of formula’s I’ve tried. It’s a medium-full coverage which is buildable, comfortable to wear, long wearing and it doesn’t seem to crease… YAY!

I definitely rate this concealer and it’s been my go-to recently… if you’ve been curious about the formula and the hype definitely suss tambeauty.com out and give it a whirl!

And for like $7, who could complain? It’s not like you’re about to splurge $30 plus on something you might hate? Am I right, girls?

Anywho, if you’ve tried this… what do you think? If you’ve been curious about whether or not, it’s worth picking up… I hope my little tid-bit of thoughts helps a little! (:

Lots of love, Emma x

NARS | Is it worth it?

So the highly anticipated Natural Radiant foundation has hit the shelves in Australia and boy, with the hype that surrounded this foundation… I was keen to give it a whirl!

I visited my local Mecca Maxima to grab a few things and sussed the new displays & BOOM! Nars had finally dropped their new foundation in Australia…. so, I thought why not get colour matched and grab a sample before dropping $71 dollars on a foundation that I may not like? *cough* I don’t want a repeat of the Marc Jacobs Re Marcable foundation *cough*

NRLF3

I am the colour Mont Blonc which is the second lightest shade but as I need something with a pink or neutral undertone… this is what I had to go with otherwise they’d be WAY to yellow compared to my skin tone. I have used Santa Fe before as well and that was a pretty good colour match too? So go figure!

NARS

The foundation is light on the skin, comfortable to wear and is a semi matte finish (it’s not as flat as some foundations but not completely dewy… to me, it’s the most ideal finish you’d want in a foundation). I’ve teamed it with Maybelline’s Super Stay primer and haven’t found it to separate or crumble in my normal troublesome areas (my nose and chin) which is a HUGE plus for me.

nars foto

NARS claim this foundation to be long wearing, transfer resistant, medium-full coverage wear which is designed to enhance the natural look of skin without masking it. The highly blendable formula ensures that the skin looks naturally flawless, radiant and polished without caking.  Claims that I can definitely agree with.

Definitely grab a sample of this foundation if you are in Mecca or whichever store stocks it in your country or pick it up and give it a whirl, I rate it but in saying that, I do prefer a more luminous foundation… I don’t really enjoy anything to matte, so if you prefer matte foundations. I don’t know if you’re going to like it.

Nars-all-day-foundation

I think I’m going to treat myself closer to my birthday and purchase a full bottle but until then I need to use the rest of the foundations I have and love!

If you’ve tried this foundation, let me know what you think in the comments… xo Emma

FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Maybelline Super Stay Foundation.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, MY LOVES!

How the heck are we in 2018, hey? I swear 2017, zoomed past.. haha!

What is everyone planning for the new year? Besides the typical “I’m going to get fit! I’m going to lose weight…” bullshit, we all seem to spin. Does anyone else have anything that they must do this year? I’ve already booked in my tattoo for early March, it’s going to represent a HUGE part of my life for the past 5 or so years. I’m also jetting off to the Gold Coast mid year to get a break from Melbourne’s bleak winter. No doubt, I’ll end up in Sydney for a weekend at one point and I also want to go back to Townsville and far North Queensland at one point or Perth because I’ve never been there but hey, let’s see how we go.

Besides all that, I’ve been testing out the highly spoken about new foundation from Maybelline. It’s their new Super Stay Full Coverage foundation and this foundation is NO JOKE! This foundation would hide a multitude of sins, I swear to god.

It sells for just under $20 in Australia at Chemist Warehouse, Priceline and your local Supermarket (which could be the sale price but
?) So it’s one of the more pricier foundations in their ranges but I definitely rate it. I don’t want to toot it’s own horn too much but I think it’s better than Marc Jacobs Re Marcable foundation and purely because it actually sets, where the Marc Jacobs foundation doesn’t in my opinion.

I also find it’s a semi matte finish. I feel it’s sort of inbetween the two types of Fit Me foundations. Not overly dewy but not as drying as the matte version, you know what I’m saying?

Rimmel London | What’s new?

Rimmel London AU are slayin’ the new releases currently… in the past month or so, we’ve seen a new; foundation & concealer, eyeshadow palettes, a mascara, a eyeliner and now a contouring & highlighting duo stick. So I thought I’d give you the 411 on what I think is worth purchasing and what you’d be okay to miss out on!

They’ve recently released the Wonder’fully Real mascara and we all know Rimmel are on top of the drug store brands for mascara, right? Well in my opinion… they are. This mascara is no exception. It is the blackest of blacks, gives your lashes volume plus length and holds all day without crumbling.

Rimmel-Wonderfully-Real-Mascara-2

Following on with their Wonder range… they’ve also included a liquid eyeliner pen. GIRLS! Any time I’ve used this liner, I swear to god…. my wings and liner have been PERFECT! My only gripe is that it needs more pigment but seriously, you need to give this a whirl if you’ve been trying to get the hang on winged liner but just can’t.

Rimmel-Wonderwing-Eye-Liner-Black-741290

Next up.. they’ve added to their Magnif’Eyes range with 4 new palettes. They’ve got a palette that oozes the most gorgeous blush shades, a basic nude palette with your typical gold and bronze shades, a smokey palette which is full of shimmery greys and deeper blues and a palette with token bright shades that are targeted for deeper skin tones.
These palettes are perfect for beginners or for people who may not wear make up on a regular basis but for your average make up enthusiast you might find them a little boring, mediocre and just not as pigmented as what you’re used too.

Last but by certainly not least… they’ve brought out a new foundation and concealer in their Lasting Finish line…. it’s called Lasting Finish Breathable.  Both are okay, right… they’re definitely comfortable on the skin and seem to last a decent amount of time, they’ve got a very innovative sponge applicator instead of a pump or just pouring it out but they definitely missed the mark with the shade range, it almost makes me want to dislike the products, I am normally not one to do that but it makes me mad. This foundation is literally only good if you’re on the paler end of every foundation you could think of. I normally wear a Ivory when I’m not tanned in let’s say Maybelline’s FIT Me range and I am a Soft Beige in this one?  It literally makes NO sense!

Lasting Finish Breathable

Have you grabbed any of these items from your local pharmacy or drug store? What do you think about the colour range in the foundation or the pigmentation in the shadows? Do you love the liner and mascara as much as I do? (: Let’s chat below xxx
